Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role will involve proactively initiating, developing, and overseeing the sales of artwork to clients continuously, with a focus on establishing and nurturing long-term relationships. Additionally, you will be responsible for building collections with your clients.

 

You will also be involved in Art Handling & Logistics, overseeing all aspects related to art handling. This includes, but is not limited to, packing and unpacking artworks, conducting condition checks, installing and de-installing pieces, managing inventory of showcases, frames, and relevant tools and materials, as well as ensuring the maintenance of exhibitions.

 

·                Organise set up and tear down of exhibition: ensuring schedule, manpower and other matters are well coordinated and taken care of,

·        Art Handling & Logistics, as well as contracted conservators and art handlers, manage the load-in and load-out of artwork / artefacts and crates to the museum

Assist in setup of events and exhibition programs.
Be responsible for technical support, maintenance and daily operations in relation to all exhibitions at the museum (as part of a team).
Assist during exhibition shipment load in/out when required (night shift, when applicable)
·       Liaise with colleagues from overseas offices to ensure exhibition logistics are well taken care of

·       implementing sales initiatives aligned with the gallery’s sales strategies. Building and managing relationships with clients to enhance sales opportunities and expand the client base.

·       overseeing and managing sales activities throughout the entire sales process, including pre-sales, sales, and post-sales, across various platforms such as exhibitions, art fairs, consignments, and private sales. Ensuring timely and effective communication with both prospective and existing clients.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor Degree or Diploma with at least 3 years of relevant working experience in the Arts industry
-Proficiency in Mandarin is required. Additional languages proficiency will be a value add.
-Able to comprehend 3D models from standard modelling software such as SketchUp as well as comprehend design drawings, building plans and crating designs
-Experience handling, installing, and designing packing solutions for large or complicated artworks such as heavy sculptures, installation art, oversized paintings as well as audio-visual and new media works of art
-Knowledge and skills in framing and/or mount-making
