Job Description
Where Creative Ambition Meets the Real Impact
At The Lo & Behold Group, we believe creativity gives hospitality its soul. It’s how we build places that move people, shape culture, and leave a mark. Across 16 concepts, we create for presence—not polish. To mean something—not just impress. For over two decades, we’ve reimagined what hospitality could be in Singapore. Now, we want to shape the creative voices defining what comes next. This 1+1 year programme is for emerging creatives—especially designers—who want to move beyond moodboards. Who care not just how something looks, but how it works, lands, and lasts. You’ll work across teams, inside live projects, and in the moments that don’t wait. From spark to rollout, from field test to feedback— you’ll learn how to make work that holds up: in use, in memory, in meaning.
Why This, Why Now
The creative world is fast, automated, and saturated. Everything looks good—until it doesn’t. But beauty isn’t meaning. And speed isn’t impact. The work that lasts takes more: taste, resilience, range. The instinct to see what others miss. The nerve to hold your line. This programme starts there. You’ll rotate beyond Creative—into Strategy, Marketing and Management. You’ll report into team leads and work on live briefs. Not to perfect them—but to learn what it takes to make creative that holds up, and helps shape what’s next.
What You’ll Walk Away With
- Creative fluency – Present, evolve, and own your ideas with clarity
- Systems thinking – Build tools and processes that scale across brands Real-world portfolio – 3–5 projects that launched, lived, and made a mark
- Mentorship that matters – 1:1 check-ins with HODs and Senior Leads
- Clarity of voice – Know what you bring, how you think, and where you’re headed
Year 1: Learn the System, Feel the Edges
This year is about context. Not just the work—but where it goes, who it serves, and what it’s up against.
Hands-on Rotational Attachments Across Teams
To make work that holds up, you need to see how it moves. You’ll rotate through key functions beyond Creative & Design to understand how brands are built—from operations to strategy to real-time decision-making. Each rotation places you within a live team, reporting to department leads and contributing to the work.
You’ll learn how creativity connects with business goals, internal systems, and guest experience—up close and in context.
- Studio Management – Support the Studio Manager in tracking timelines, unblocking work, and managing portfolios in motion.
- Brand Strategy – Shadow and contribute to a live project: shape research, help define the brief, and see how intent holds through change.
- Venue Marketing – Report into a marketing lead. Support campaigns, rollout assets, and understand performance on the ground.
- Special Projects – Gain exposure to how HQ operates behind the scenes, while contributing to the systems that support HQ performance. Work with Management Associates on tracking tools, structured comms, and performance metrics that help scale the work and align it to the business.
Get Fluent in Hospitality Creative & Design
Creative here doesn’t live in theory. It lives in hands, under pressure, in the flow of service. You’ll learn what lasts.
- Join live reviews—see how design choices shape guest experience and team operations
- Design across touchpoints—menus, signage, social, digital, motion
- Build toolkits—templates, layout systems, and type specs
- Sit in on cross-functional check-ins—present ideas clearly to non-design teams
Be Measured Across Real Projects
You’ll work under real constraints—with feedback that’s fast, honest, and sometimes uncomfortable
- Design across formats—decks, menus, signage, social, motion
- Prototype in context—test under bad lighting, during service, or last-minute pivots
- Hear it direct—from chefs, ops, and marketers who live with the outcome
- See your work go live—and own how it performs, evolves, and endures
🚩 You’ll close the year with a Creative Associate Report—your take on what you saw, what worked, and where creativity can work harder across the Group.
Year 2: Deepen & Lead (By Invitation)
If Year 1 is range, Year 2 is rigour. This second year is for Associates who’ve shown they can go deeper—who think clearly, stay grounded, and lead through complexity. You’ll:
- Deepen your craft—whether in brand, systems, or storytelling
- Lead a project—from brief to rollout, working across teams Pitch and pilot a self-initiated idea—with mentorship, not micromanagement
- Deliver with consistency—not just creatively, but with clarity, maturity, and follow-through
🏁 Ends with a Capstone Project—a creative initiative you lead from pitch to launch, showing how you think, build, and lead when the work is yours to own.
Who We’re Looking For
Not just creatives. Creative thinkers. You might have trained in design—but you’re not here just to execute. You want to understand how ideas live and move: across brand, marketing, ops, and moments that don’t go to plan. This is for those who know the early years aren’t for applause. They’re for building the muscle.
You might be a good fit if you:
- Want to work across the full system—not just your corner of it
- Care more about long-term impact than short-term visibility
- Take feedback seriously, hold the standard, and stay steady under pressure
- Crave challenge—not to prove yourself, but to expand your range
- Think clearly when things get messy—and keep going when things get real It’s about becoming the kind of creative who earns trust, grows with intention, and makes work that matters—wherever you go next.
