Who We Are

The Private Museum is a non-profit private museum in Singapore founded by Singaporean philanthropist, art collector and real estate developer, Daniel Teo, together with his daughter Rachel Teo in 2010. Fuelled by passionate patronage for the arts, the museum aims to establish an alternative platform to bridge the gap between the private and the public. It supports the exchange of ideas across cultures, educational initiatives, artistic and curatorial collaborations with collectors and practitioners of the arts. With a vision to promote art appreciation, the independent art space engages local, regional and international audiences from all walks of life. The Private Museum is a registered Charity and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) since 2010 and 2015 respectively.

Job Description

This position reports to the Museum Assistant Manager and the Museum Fundraising committee and will look after the fundraising, events, community development and partnership development aspects for The Private Museum, which is a registered charity and non-profit organisation. This will include the fundraising strategies, planning and execution of fundraising events, pitching to donors/sponsors, donor engagement, preparation of marketing materials, partnership development strategies etc.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fundraising Campaign Support
    • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, including the Charity Golf and Annual Gala.
    • Help disseminate fundraising materials such as appeals, event invitations, and thank-you letters.
    • Track donations and sponsor commitments, updating internal systems and databases.
  2. Event Coordination & Logistics
    • Assist with event planning, coordination, and logistics for fundraising events and venue hire bookings.
    • Assist in organising museum tours and public programmes.
    • Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations.
  3. Donor & Sponsor Support
    • Help identify new potential partners and sponsors, providing research and outreach support.
    • Assist in maintaining relationships with existing donors and sponsors
    • To assist Museum Director and Manager in pitches to secure funding
  4. Administrative Support
    • Provide administrative support in the management of donor databases and maintain accurate records.
    • Monitor and report on fundraising progress, helping track goals and key metrics.

Prerequisites

  • Possess a Business or Arts-related Degree, Diploma holders with relevant experience are encouraged to apply too
  • A strong interest and passion for the visual arts scene and philanthropy in Singapore
  • Experience in the non-profit/ charity sector will be considered favourably
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite is essential
  • Good writing skills with a strong command of the English language
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Keen learner
  • Able to carry out tasks independently and efficiently
  • Attentive to details and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Other Information

  • 5-day work week
  • Able to work on weekends, when required
