Job Description

ELLE Singapore is looking for editorial interns who are self-starters with an eye for style and a nose that can sniff trending stories a mile away. Interested applicants should be able to commit three months or more, for five days a week.

The editorial intern will provide support to the digital and print departments, assisting with digital content creation as well as writing short- and long-form stories for web and print. This role is ideal for university undergraduates and/or diploma graduates (with a relevant field of study) interested in exploring a career in fashion journalism. We are open to candidates who do not fit this criteria and will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

You should have a keen interest in fashion, celebrity and entertainment news, beauty and luxury lifestyle as well as watches and jewellery content. You will have opportunities to learn the ins and outs of publishing—essentially, what it takes to produce daily, weekly and monthly content for print, web and social media platforms.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Pitching stories of interest that you will write.
  • Working with the Digital Editor to cover local and international events for web and social media coverage.
  • Assisting the Digital Editor on video shoots, and learning professional creative work flows.
  • Assisting the Fashion Editor on photo shoots, and learning how to bring creative concepts to life.
  • Transcribing interviews.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organisational and interpersonal skills to engage and interact with stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Willingness to learn and proactively taking initiative.
  • Ability to produce quality content/articles under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in publishing is preferred, but not mandatory.

Interns will be given a monthly allowance of $500.
