Who We Are

Sick and tired of having no creative freedom, being given a narrow job scope and feeling like a factory worker just churning out screens after screens for unappreciative clients? We feel you, and that's why this job opportunity is entirely different. Originally US (https://originallyus.sg) is a regional award-winning mobile app consultancy that provides bespoke mobile app consultancy, conceptualization, research, testing, design and development services for global financial institutions, MNCs, and government bodies. We are highly selective of which clients we work with and produce our best works with clients that work well with us.

Job Description

Our team:
We specialize in crafting exceptional digital experiences for mostly mobile apps and some websites.

We are focused on helping businesses deliver seamless and user-friendly digital products that drive engagement and growth.

We work with a diverse range of clients across industries, creating designs that not only look great but also function flawlessly.

We are seeking:

An experienced UI/UX Designer who thrives on solving complex design challenges and creating intuitive, beautiful interfaces for mobile apps and websites.

You will be given autonomy and are expected to challenge yourself, to grow with us and to think. We don’t want someone who needs an instruction manual to operate a pair of chopsticks.

You will be doing market & user research, conceptualisation, storyboarding, wireframing for mobile apps (90% of the time) and websites (10% of the time). You may also be required to conduct user interviews before coming up with your design approach, and to conduct usability testing to verify your approach.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience (5 years for senior role) in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile projects. Web projects and experience are not counted.
  • Proficiency in end-to-end UI/UX design by translating complex requirements into user-friendly responsive design using mobile-first frameworks.
  • You set the design direction, align it with business goals, and ensure consistency across the product. We are not looking for anyone less experienced.
  • Strong understanding of UX design principles, including user research, wireframing, and prototyping, to advocate the needs and preferences of users throughout the design process.
  • You ensure that the final product solves real user problems and provides a positive user experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to clients and team members including project managers and developers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You explore innovative design solutions and stay up-to-date with emerging design trends and technologies. You bring fresh ideas to the table to enhance the product’s uniqueness and competitiveness.
  • Create compelling presentations that showcase the value and justify your design decisions. To be able to communicate design concepts, ideas, and rationale effectively to stakeholders, both verbally and visually.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar to produce sitemaps, user and market research documents, user journey maps & wireframes.
  • Experience with usability testing and interpreting analytics is a plus.
  • Strong in illustration and designing graphic assets (icons, mascots, etc.) is a plus

Why Work with Us?

  • Work on exciting projects that make a tangible impact.
  • Opportunity to work with a talented team across diverse portfolios.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid work arrangement / flexible working hours
  • Project bonuses (after first year)
  • Annual company retreat (overseas, normally in June)
  • Quarterly company team bonding activities & budget
  • An electrically operated standing desk, a macbook pro and a 4k monitor
