At Collaro, we are building the most approachable menswear brand in the world. With customers from 60+ countries and growing, and with both a physical and eCommerce store, we are looking for a photographer and content creation intern who will support the company’s global ambitions.

This internship duration is for 4 to 6 months and you are required to work on 4 weekdays only. We’re looking to have someone join the team as early as mid-January.

If you prefer to work a weekend in place of a weekday, please let us know and we’ll see if we can work with your schedule.

1. About you

We are looking for a multi-skilled person who fulfils the description below:

·       Loves to create digital content for a global audience: As a Digital Content Creator, the team relies on you to put out engaging content to our global audience

·       Curious and always learning: To come up with relevant content for our audience, the team relies on you to be updated on the latest trends. Besides monitoring trends, you’re also someone who constantly looks for opportunities to be better at what you do

·       Detail-oriented and meticulous: To ensure that you are able to put out great content, you’ll need to focus on the details at every step of the way. For instance, for the photoshoots that you will do you’ll need to ensure that:

  1. Before photoshoots, the setup is done properly, which includes the preparation of various outfits and equipment, and checking each piece to ensure they are fit-for-photography (e.g. no loose threads, no creases)
  2. During photoshoots, you’ll need to frequently check that the model has not forgotten to do a few things (e.g. button sleeve cuffs)
  3. After photoshoots, you’ll need to review the pictures you’ve taken, and make necessary adjustments to more accurately reflect the actual colour of the garment

·       Dependable: You are someone who can manage your time, workload and meet deadlines without external reminders, so your team can count on you to produce great work in a timely manner

·      Team-oriented: You will work with the co-founder and another operations colleague closely, and we are looking for team players who look after one another and offers to help their colleagues from time to time when the need arises (e.g. helping operations team during peak season)

2. Your Experience, Education & Skills

·      Paper qualifications aren’t important, so it doesn’t matter if you have a NITEC, Diploma, Degree, or PhD
·      Proficient in photography
·      Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Lightroom and Photoshop
·      Basic videography skills (for Instagram reels and TikTok)
·      Knowledge or has interest in fashion and styling

3. Office equipment for you to use
·      Your own iMac
·      Fujifilm camera
·      1 C-stand
·      1 studio light
·      In-house photography studio with 2 back drops

4. Roles & Responsibilities

Your main responsibility would be to co-conceptualise, create and manage content across our digital channels, which includes:

1. Instagram
2. TikTok
3. Emailers
4. Website

To create the content, you’ll be engaged in photography, basic videography, some graphic design (for emailers and website) and writing of basic captions.

You’ll also have to retrieve existing content from various platforms (social media channels, emails, from other content creators) and organise them into various folders for easy access in the future.

For you to be able to manage these responsibilities well, we have a developed a 4 weeks training programme for you so that you’ll be ready for the job.

This is an outline of what you can expect:

Week 1:
• Be put through the customer journey
• Introduction to different product lines and designs we offer
• Acquainted with the types of fabrics we offer, and their characteristics
• Learn various considerations before, during and after you do a photoshoot
• Review common mistakes that happen before, during and after a photoshoot
• Be acquainted with the studio setup and equipment

Week 2:
• Be acquainted with the existing various angles that we have used for our photoshoot
• Be acquainted with all the software that we use for your day to day work (team collaboration, post-processing, basic video editing, content scheduling and for eDMs)
• Conduct product (flat lay) photoshoot with some guidance, before we transit into post-photography review sessions
• Conduct post-processing work with some guidance, before we transit into the review sessions
• Learn basic styling and how to pair clothes together

Week 3:
• Conduct portrait photoshoot with some guidance, before we transit into post-photography review sessions
• Conduct post-processing work with some guidance, before we transit into the review sessions
• Be acquainted with the emailer software

Week 4:
• A review of what was taught to you from week 1 to 3 will be done, for you to identify what areas you’d need more guidance with
• You will make a list of content ideas that you’ll try for the second month, and get feedback thereafter
