Job Description

T:>Works seeks a high-energy, organised and creative individual as Communications and Engagement Executive, to be responsible for overseeing its communications, media, community engagement, and digital content / social media marketing. The Executive will create and execute a communications strategy for external consumption, including media, the public, and our local communities, with the goals of advancing T:>Works’ profile and programmes, building attendance and increasing awareness of the company and its impact.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications, Content Creation and Social Media
  • Plan and execute the communications and engagement strategy for T:>Works’ programmes, including scheduling, researching, analytics tracking and reporting
  • Develop and maintain a content framework and calendar consisting of organic and paid content across all communications channels and social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Manage day-to-day social media operations, including copywriting, digital asset creation, scheduling and publishing
  • Define objectives, target audiences, content channels and performance metrics
  • Translate communications goals into a monthly digital content calendar aligned with T:>Works’ strategic direction
  • Maintain and update the company’s websites and digital pages, working with web designers and external vendors where needed
  • Provide content and guidance for the management of other main digital marketing platforms
  • Create content and copywriting for marketing, engagement and publicity collaterals, including video, image and text assets for EDMs, social media and other digital platforms
  • Design and implement a digital community engagement strategy, with clear guidelines and best practices

 

 

Engagement
  • Generate outreach to and engagement with relevant communities and partners for T:>Works’ programmes
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies, including outreach initiatives and marketing events
  • Collaborate with external community and marketing partners to build meaningful engagement opportunities

 

Press and Media
  • Cultivate and maintain relationship with press and media contacts to pitch stories and generate coverage for the company and its projects
  • Write compelling press releases, coordinate interviews and plan media engagement sessions
  • Coordinate and oversee photo sessions for public relations and marketing purposes
  • Oversee the archiving of all press clippings, video clips, radio tapes and photo library

 

KEY CRITERIA

The ideal candidate is a consummate communicator, creative thinker and content producer with a passion for the arts, who thrives in a progressive artistic environment. He/She/They should meet many of the following criteria and demonstrate the willingness and capacity to learn the rest on the job:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, particularly in fields such as Communications, English, Media Studies, Arts Management, Marketing, Design or other related disciplines in the humanities or creative industries.
  • 1–3 years of work experience in the creative industry or related fields such as communications, journalism, advertising, digital marketing or public relations (preferred)
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong editorial skills with a keen eye for consistency, accuracy and detail, while contributing effectively to overarching communication strategies
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multichannel communication strategies, including content scheduling and optimisation for impact
  • Experience managing complex projects and campaigns with overlapping timelines and deliverables
  • Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem and multichannel engagement strategies, with relevant media and community contacts an advantage
  • Strong digital literacy, with working knowledge of Google Suite and related collaborative tools
  • Design and video editing capabilities using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools
  • Familiarity with digital content management systems (e.g. Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive) and the content production process
  • Strong work ethic, team-oriented mindset, and flexibility to work outside regular hours when required by the organisation’s project schedule

Established in 1985, T:>Works is an independent and international arts company based in Singapore at its space, 72-13. It is currently led by Artistic Director, Dr. Ong Keng Sen.
T:>Works’ mission and vision are the pioneering of thought leadership in the arts focused on transdisciplinary, transcultural, and inclusive processes.To this end, there is a strong educational perspective with research and discourse contextualising histories, contemporary experiences, and situated art practices of the global south.
T:>Works also serves to investigate the current urgencies of being located in Singapore, and larger Asia, through different creative expressions in the public sphere.
