Job Description

Job Title:
Care associate (Assisted Living)

Reports To:
Manager, (Assisted living-Operations)

Summary :
The Care Associate provides direct care to residents in one of Communa Gold’s assisted living enclaves, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This position involves assisting with activities of daily living (as needed), providing companionship, and maintaining a positive and supportive environment. Ratio is typically 1 caregiver to 3 or 4 seniors fairly independent seniors.
This can be a full time or part time role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Resident Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as and when required (residents are typically independent in basic ADLs).
b) Assist residents with meals, including meal preparation and serving.
c) Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as required.
d) Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any changes in condition.
e) Carry out daily housekeeping tasks for residents.
f) Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
g) Safety and Wellness:Ensure the safety and security of residents at all times.
h) Respond promptly to resident emergencies.
i) Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols as required.
j) Communication:Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff members.
k) Carry out resident social, health and recreational activities in productive and timely manner.
l) Participate in care planning meetings and staff trainings.

Qualifications :
a) Experience working with seniors in a caregiving setting preferred.
b) Nursing aide/senior care certification preferred but not always required.
c) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
d) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
e) Compassionate and empathetic with a strong desire to serve others.
f) CPR and/or other First Aid certification desirable.
