Who We Are

We are a digital marketing consultancy that is optimised for a digital-centric world. We offer an integrated suite of solutions - from digital transformation, strategy and planning consultation to social media and interactive executions. Our clients span across different categories: automotive, wearable technology, beauty, government/statutory boards, FMCG, tourism, and more. We work collaboratively with our partners and clients to move brands and businesses forward. We have two offices (Singapore and Manila) and both teams work seamlessly to create some pretty awesome products, projects and campaigns. Everyone pulls their own weight and our colleagues are always willing to give a helping hand to make our work better. On the surface, we may seem generally laid back, but we’re very serious about our work. We’re a group of people who came together because we like coming up with awesome ideas and want to build, make and create great things. Hashtag Interactive is our happy place and we welcome people who are as passionate about all things digital as we are.

Job Description

Are you a sharp, insights-driven marketer who knows how to connect the dots between brand goals and audience behaviour? Join Hashtag Interactive as a Brand Strategist, where you’ll lead the research, planning, and strategy behind our proposals and campaigns. If you have a knack for uncovering real insights, building platform strategies, and translating them into actionable content plans, we’d love to meet you.

The Brand Strategist leads the strategic planning phase for new business proposals and ongoing client campaigns. Working across the Hub, Accounts, and Content teams — and embedded within squads on existing accounts — you will ensure our strategies are grounded in real data, tailored to the target audience, and feasible for the brand’s resources.

First 90 Days
Get up to speed fast. You will immerse yourself in our proposal workflow, past reports, existing client data, and previous proposals to understand how we work and what good looks like. Get to know the tools and resources available for brand, competitor, and audience audits.

Start contributing to proposals. Working with the Hub and Accounts teams, you will begin distilling client briefs, identifying the business problem and the underlying human problem, and developing platform and content strategies — including key messaging, content pillars, and content buckets.

Embed yourself in the squads. You will get to know the squads working on existing accounts, understand their clients, and start identifying opportunities to contribute to campaign planning and strategy reviews.

Day-to-Day Expectations
Proposals and Campaign Strategy: You will lead strategy development for new business proposals and campaign briefs, working closely with the Hub and Accounts teams. This means conducting brand and competitor audits, gathering insights from real data (not just AI-generated assumptions), defining personas, platform roles, and key messaging, and shaping content strategies that are both differentiated and deliverable.

Ongoing Account Strategy: Beyond new business, you will work with squads on existing accounts to support campaign planning, audit current content strategies against initial plans, and assess effectiveness based on data and results. You will help identify what is working, what is not, and what needs to shift.

Martech and Industry Trends: You will regularly reach out to partners and vendors, evaluate new tools and martech solutions, and identify what can add value to our accounts and clients. Keeping abreast of social media trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies is part of the job.

Role Competencies

  • Strategic thinking: Connects research to actionable, differentiated marketing strategies
  • Research & Analysis: Conducts rigorous audits and extracts insights from real data and past results
  • Content Strategy: Strong grasp of platform strategy, content pillars, buckets, and messaging frameworks
  • Collaboration: Works effectively across Hub, Accounts, Content, and squad teams
  • Practicality: Designs strategies that are realistic given the client’s resources and capabilities

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with 3 to 4 years of agency experience, with a background in social media or content strategy.
  • A strong understanding of how social media platforms work is essential.
  • Experience with integrated campaigns and media strategy is a major plus.
  • You should be comfortable working with data, conducting research beyond surface-level searches, and communicating strategic thinking clearly in proposals and presentations.
