Work with unconventional individuals and brands to build media initiatives in an environment that values creativity, authenticity, and social impact.

Role Focus:

• Support the Media team across the full production pipeline, from pre-production planning through on-set shooting to post-production delivery, building authentic and impactful content.

• In addition to supporting production, you’ll also work closely with the individuals, communities and brands at the heart of stories. If you have a heart for stewarding stories, then this role is for you.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to Assistant Creative Director

💼 Core Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic Media Intern ready to dive into the world of audiovisual storytelling with a purpose!

This is an opportunity for someone hungry to learn about and contribute to a startup media production house in an impact-driven, start up setting. While an interest in audiovisual storytelling anchors this role, a passion for social impact is non-negotiable, alongside the ambition to hone creative and executive muscles in tandem.

The exact responsibilities of the intern will be based on both the needs of the organisation and the strengths of the intern.

Pre-Production (30%)

• Support logistics planning: scheduling shoots, coordinating with participants/talent, and liaising with clients or internal stakeholders on availability
• Help prepare shot lists, call sheets, and equipment checklists
  Assist with location scouting and site setup (lighting, audio, camera rigging)
• Help with gear prep, and manage equipment inventory before and after shoots

Production (40%)

• Assist on-set as a second shooter, camera assistant, or gaffer/grip depending on project needs
• Support audio recording setup (lav mics, boom, recorders) for interviews and podcast-style shoots
• Help manage on-set organisation, including slating, footage logging, and continuity notes
• Provide general production support to keep shoots running on schedule
  Capture behind-the-scenes content of productions and/or programmes across the Hatch ecosystem

Post-Production (30%)

• Organise and back up footage following file management/naming conventions
• Assist with rough cuts, selects, and transcription/logging of interview footage
• Support colour correction, sound mixing, and motion graphics workflows
• Help prepare final exports and deliverables in formats required for different platforms (YouTube, social, client handoff)

📍 Required Competencies

Technical & Portfolio

• A showreel or portfolio of video/photo work, developed through internships, academic work, or personal projects, that shows an interest or ability in media production. This can be a school project or personal project, anything that you are proud to share is yours.
• Basic understanding of production fundamentals (camera, lighting, audio, or editing) and a passion for learning more in the field.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to articulate creative and technical choices, demonstrating your thought process and an understanding of how the different stages of production come together to tell a cohesive story.
• Strong communication skills, reliability on set, and an eagerness to engage in collaborative work.
