Social Media Content Creator Intern (F&B Industry)

Apply Now

Who We Are

Skillet, a small SME focusing on Western Cuisine in the F&B industry, is looking for a creative, curious and performance-minded Social Media Content Creator Intern who loves food, understands social media and wants the freedom to experiment.
You will create content that makes people stop scrolling, feel hungry and take action—whether that means following us, sharing a post, visiting an outlet or placing an order.
This is not a purely desk-based design internship. You will be close to the action: filming food on the grill, capturing kitchen operations, documenting new menu launches, creating promotional content and transforming everyday F&B moments into platform-native stories.
You will receive guidance and feedback, but you should also be comfortable taking ownership, proposing ideas and moving projects forward without constant follow-up.

Job Description

What You Will Do

1. Create Short-Form Videos That Perform

  • Conceptualise, film, edit and publish at least 2 short-form videos per week.
  • Create content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Xiaohongshu where relevant.
  • Turn kitchen operations, grilling, plating, menu items, staff moments, promotions and events into engaging stories.
  • Develop strong opening hooks that capture attention within the first few seconds.
  • Use pacing, text overlays, subtitles, sound, transitions and calls to action effectively.
  • Adapt each idea to suit the audience and viewing behaviour of different platforms instead of simply reposting the same edit everywhere.
  • Produce content in real operating environments where lighting, timing and space may not always be perfect.

2. Create Static and Supporting Content

  • Design static posts, carousels, Stories, and simple campaign assets.
  • Resize and adapt content for different social media formats.
  • Maintain visual consistency with Skillet’s brand identity.
  • Ensure that menu names, prices, and calls to action are accurate before submission.

3. Experiment With Hooks, Angles and Formats

  • Turn marketing objectives into clear content angles, stories and calls to action.
  • Test different hooks, editing styles, video lengths, captions, thumbnails and content formats.
  • Develop recurring content series that audiences can recognise and follow.
  • Identify opportunities to turn one filming session into multiple pieces of content.
  • Balance trend-led content with original concepts that strengthen Skillet’s identity.
  • Treat unsuccessful content as a learning opportunity and recommend what should be tested next.

4. Use Performance Data to Improve Content

  • Monitor basic performance metrics such as:
    • Initial viewer retention
    • Average watch time
    • Video completion rate
    • Shares, saves and comments
    • Profile visits and follower growth
    • Link clicks, enquiries, redemptions or orders where tracking is available
  • Prepare a concise weekly performance summary covering:
    • What performed well
    • What underperformed
    • Why it may have happened
    • What should be repeated, changed or stopped
    • What should be tested next
  • Focus on meaningful audience actions and business outcomes—not likes alone.

5. Research Trends and Collaboration Opportunities

  • Stay informed about social media, creator and F&B trends in Singapore.
  • Research relevant creators, food reviewers, brands and collaboration opportunities.
  • Maintain a reference bank of effective hooks, formats, sounds and creator examples.
  • Recommend how trends can be adapted to Skillet without copying other brands.
  • Support creative brainstorming, campaign planning and collaboration content where required.

6. Plan, Schedule and Organise Content

  • Maintain an organised content calendar and production schedule.
  • Draft captions, calls to action and hashtag recommendations.
  • Coordinate content submissions and approvals before publishing.
  • Schedule approved content across the required platforms.
  • Maintain an organised library of raw footage, edited videos, templates, captions and campaign assets.
  • Follow clear file-naming and version-control practices so content can be found and reused easily.

7. Use AI Responsibly

  • Use relevant AI tools to support research, brainstorming, scripting, storyboarding, caption development, transcription, editing and content variations.
  • Apply personal judgment rather than publishing generic AI-generated ideas.
  • Check all AI-assisted content for accuracy, originality, brand suitability and commercial usage rights.
  • Protect confidential business, employee and customer information when using AI platforms.
  • Explore new tools and workflows that can improve the speed or quality of content production.

Good to Have, But Not Essential

  • Food photography, food styling or product-photography experience.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro or similar tools.
  • Experience interpreting social media analytics.
  • Experience appearing on camera, directing talent or conducting simple interviews.
  • Experience supporting influencer, creator or brand collaborations.
  • Basic knowledge of paid social advertising.
  • Copywriting or bilingual content capabilities relevant to Skillet’s audience.
  • We value demonstrated ability, curiosity and growth potential more than a long list of software certificates.

What You Will Gain

  • A portfolio of real, published F&B content supported by actual performance data.
  • Hands-on experience producing content from idea and filming to editing, publishing and analysis.
  • The opportunity to develop high-performing content.
  • Exposure to organic social media, brand marketing, and creator collaborations.
  • The freedom to propose ideas, test new formats and learn from real audience responses.
  • Experience using AI as part of a practical marketing and content-production workflow.
  • Regular feedback and guidance from the marketing team.
  • A clearer understanding of how creative content contributes to awareness, customer action and sales.
  • Potential consideration for future opportunities based on performance and business needs.

You Will Thrive Here If

  • You notice content opportunities in ordinary moments.
  • You can transform a simple plate of food into an interesting story.
  • You are willing to test an idea instead of waiting for the “perfect” concept.
  • You take responsibility for deadlines and communicate early when something is blocking you.
  • You enjoy both the creative and analytical sides of social media.
  • You want meaningful ownership and learning opportunities within a growing local F&B SME.
  • This role may not be suitable if you are only interested in making polished visuals but are uncomfortable filming on-site, analysing results, revising work or taking initiative.

No creator can guarantee that every post will go viral. Success means building a reliable system that produces stronger ideas, better content and measurable improvement over time.
