Job Description

Graphic Designer (Narrative & Print Focus)

Role Overview

You are the visual storyteller for our printed and digital assets, responsible for translating the immersive, fantasy world onto the page and screen. This role is crucial for creating the branded materials that introduce guests to the absurdity, including “in-world” elements like menus, invitations, and promotional art.

Key Responsibilities

  • Immersive Print Design: Design all guest-facing print materials, including the 5-course menus (ensuring they fit the absurd/fantasy theme), unique room descriptions, ticket designs, and custom-branded stationery.
  • Digital Asset Creation: Develop high-quality graphics for the website, email campaigns, and online advertisements, maintaining a consistent brand identity established by the Creative Designer.
  • “In-World” Assets: Create bespoke graphic props (e.g., custom maps, fictional newspaper clippings, character-specific insignias) that the actors can use to enhance the interaction and story.
  • Branding & Style Guides: Assist in maintaining and evolving the visual style guide, ensuring all graphics evoke the correct level of fantasy and absurdity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Social Media Intern to provide engaging and appropriately themed visual content for all platforms.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is mandatory.
A portfolio that demonstrates a strong sense of typography, composition, and an aptitude for designing within a narrative or thematic framework (e.g., historical, fantasy, or sci-fi styles).
  • Experience with print production and preparing files for commercial printing.
Exceptional attention to detail, especially when designing small, crucial elements that enhance the immersive story.
  • A designer who isn’t afraid of the absurd and can visually communicate complex, fantastical ideas clearly.
