Job Description

Job Type: 1–2 Month Freelance Trial (Potential for Long-Term Role)

 

About the Role:
We’re launching a fun and engaging children’s YouTube channel and are looking for a Creative Set Designer & Props Specialist to work closely with our Creative Director. This role involves designing small, imaginative sets, creating arts and crafts activities, and sourcing or building props to bring our episodes to life.

The ideal candidate thrives on creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to stretch a limited budget to create magical results. We’re looking for someone confident in their abilities, proactive in execution, and capable of working independently without heavy oversight. But most importantly – Positive VIBES and brings fun energy to set!

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to conceptualize and design engaging, child-friendly sets for YouTube episodes.
  • Source, build, and style props and craft materials to enhance storytelling.
  • Plan and execute arts and crafts activities that align with episode themes.
  • Work within budget constraints to deliver creative solutions.
  • Ensure all designs are safe, durable, and suitable for a children’s audience.
  • Manage setup and teardown of sets efficiently for production schedules.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in set design, prop creation, or art department roles.
  • Strong artistic skills with a flair for DIY and crafting.
  • Resourceful problem-solver with the ability to maximize limited budgets.
  • Highly organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a creative team.
  • (Bonus) Experience working on children’s content or similar productions.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without micromanagement.
  • Passionate about creating imaginative spaces and experiences for kids.
