About SilverStreak
SilverStreak is an online community and lifestyle media platform to inspire, connect and enable silvers to live fuller for longer. It’s created by silvers for silvers. We aim to fight the stigma of ageing, and show that silvers are still contributing even as they enter a different chapter of their lives Our platform serves as a hub, providing the resources, support, and community they need to live out the best chapter of their lives.
SilverStreak is part of the Distilleri Group, an independent strategic communications agency based in Singapore.
We are looking for a creative and motivated staff writer to create engaging content for our publication. The staff writer’s responsibilities include researching topics, interviewing relevant individuals and creating compelling copy and content.
The Role:
· Conducting research on assigned topics.
· Interviewing individuals relevant to the article.
· Analyse and interpret findings by breaking down data
· Uncover newsworthy stories
· Contribute to content idea generation
· Writing content according to a brief.
· Attending meetings to delegate new tasks.
· Editing your own and/or co-workers’ writing when required.
· Keeping abreast of current events.
The Persona:
· 3-5 years’ experience in editorial, including online publications, both with writing and sub-editing experience (please share portfolio of articles)
· A degree in journalism, communication, or relevant field
· Good observation skills
· Experience writing for an online publication with a portfolio of articles written.
· Excellent written communication skills.
· Keen interest and up-to-date with local, national and international affairs
· Ability to follow strict deadlines and fact-check information
· Ability to manage the tonality of the content platform and relevant promotional material
· Local insights and Silvers/Senior acknowledge and insights are a bonus
