The production manager works with cofounder (designer) to turn design ideas into tech pack, sample, fitting and production, and oversees the entire manufacturing process, transforming designs into finished products while ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating designs into production: Work with designer to turn design ideas into sample- and production-ready tech packs and samples, fittings and revisions, and preparation for bulk production.
- Production planning and scheduling: Creating and managing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of stocks.
- Vendor and supplier management: Managing relationships with manufacturing partners and suppliers including onboarding, communicating, and negotiating with suppliers to maintain high-quality material sourcing and production.
- Supply chain coordination: Ensuring the efficient flow of goods, including working with logistics for distribution of materials and products (e.g. fabrics, trims, garments, etc.)
- Quality control: Establishing standards, monitoring production, and inspecting products to ensure they meet brand quality standards.
- Inventory management: Managing inventory including stocktake and planning restocks.
- Other operations: Assistance during sample fittings and photoshoots, picking and packing of orders during peak seasons, and retail support during pop-ups and other events.
What we are looking for:Â
- Experience in fashion design and production: Prior experience in fashion design and production, with strong knowledge in garment production processes and supply chain management.
- Strong leadership skills: The ability to own, guide and delegate tasks effectively to suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills: The ability to clearly communicate plans, deadlines, and expectations to both the internal team and suppliers.
- Strong planning skills: Developing and implementing production schedules, monitoring budgets, and contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring all aspects of production meet quality standards and adhere to brand specifications.
Schedule
- Flexible freelance role, approximately 2 to 2.5 days per week.
- Mostly remote, with some on-site duties at Dear Samfu’s studio or relevant locations (e.g. photoshoots, pop-ups, events etc.)
