Position Summary:
As a Driver cum Warehouse Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our funeral services operations. This role requires a reliable, detail-oriented individual capable of managing various logistics tasks, from transportation to set-up and tear-down of funeral venues, warehouse organization, and equipment upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving & Transportation. Safely operate company vehicles, including cars and vans, to transport equipment, supplies, and staff to and from funeral venues and warehouse.
    Ensure vehicles are well-maintained and compliant with all safety regulations. Ensure timely transport of passengers or equipment to designated locations while following schedules or routes.
  • Venue Set-Up & Tear-Down. Assist with the set-up and arrangement of wake venues, ensuring proper placement of furniture, equipment, and other necessary items according to company standards. Disassemble and pack up equipment post-funeral, ensuring a respectful and efficient dismantling process. Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the venue before, during, and after the wake.
  • Warehouse & Inventory Management. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring all equipment and supplies are stored properly. Regularly inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on equipment. Conduct inventory checks to ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and equipment. Assist in the receiving, stocking, and organizing of supplies.
  • General Maintenance & Cleaning. Perform routine cleaning and minor repairs on company equipment, ensuring it is ready for use at all times. Maintain overall cleanliness of vehicles, warehouse, and equipment storage areas.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate larger vehicles (such as vans and lorry) preferred.
  • Previous experience in logistics, warehouse management, or event setup is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and setting up equipment.
  • Professional demeanor with a compassionate approach to work within a funeral service environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Skills – Words, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of Google Drive is an added advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to learn and be proactive in work.
  • Able to multitask and work independently.
