Job Description

JOIN OUR TEAM: JUNIOR CAMERA HOARDERS WANTED!
Got downtime between shoots? Editing gigs dried up for a bit? Your next production starts in three weeks and you’d like your bank account to survive until then? Come put your gear knowledge to work.

We’re especially keen to hear from freelance photographers, videographers, camera assistants, film students and other creatives already working in the industry. If you know your way around a shoot and want part-time work between projects, you’re our kind of person

What You’ll Be Doing (The Side Quests):

  • Inspect returned gear. Check that everything works and every accessory made it home. The missing battery will not be manifesting itself.
  • Clean and pack orders. Fingerprints are not a creative filter. Every battery, cable and adapter has a purpose. “Should be inside” is not an inventory system.
  • Troubleshoot: Help figure out why something isn’t working without immediately declaring it cursed.
  • Help customers: Get people ready for their shoot, minus the camera-store superiority complex.
  • Assist on shoots: Get practical experience when opportunities come up.

You Might Be Our Person If…

  • You have some photography, filmmaking or production experience. Existing creative industry experience is a big plus.
  • You’re reliable. Freelance life can be chaotic; showing up still matters.
  • You notice the tiny things, especially the tiny things customers need for their shoot to function.
  • You can talk to customers like a helpful human.
  • You’re willing to learn unfamiliar gear and ask when you’re unsure.
  • You can use a computer, type and follow a packing list even when your brain has 47 tabs open.
  • You’ve got steady hands and a healthy fear of how much that lens costs.

How to Apply:
Send your resume to jasperphua@justrentlah.com, along with a short intro, your availability, and any shoot experience or portfolio you’d like to flex.

Tell us what you do, what your schedule looks like, and whether you can stick around for at least 6 months. Applicants who can commit get priority, we’d like your time here to last longer than a situationship.

No need to write a love letter to our corporate values. Just give us enough to work with beyond “I like cameras.”
