Job Description
Ribbit.FYI is a visual explainer brand dedicated to making complex topics understandable and engaging for young adults. We function as the internet’s “online school for adults,” translating social issues, financial concepts, and industry jargon into empathetic, data-driven, and visually compelling narratives. Our mission is to foster critical thinking and simplify chaos for our audience of Zillennials in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
We are seeking a creative talent who is both a skilled illustrator and a sharp writer—someone who can translate deep research and complex ideas not just into clear, witty copy, but into compelling, original, and accessible visual narratives. This role is central to producing our signature comics, data infographics, and other illustrated formats, maintaining our unique voice and editorial integrity from concept to final pixel.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, design, and execute original illustrations, data visualisations, infographics, and webcomics that bring the written narrative to life, ensuring a seamless synergy between text and visuals.
- Act as a custodian for the visual quality and consistency of all illustrated static formats, providing guidance and upholding standards across UNFOLD Asia brands.
- Conduct in-depth research to develop original, culturally resonant story concepts for our illustrated content series (data infographics, comics).
- Write and script compelling narratives, translating complex data and insights into clear, accessible copy that embodies our witty, inquisitive, and empathetic tone.
- Analyze inbound client briefs against the editorial non-negotiables of our media brands to pitch and produce sponsored comics and infographics that are authentic and maintain audience trust.
- Uphold UNFOLD’s high standards for credibility and intellectual honesty by rigorously fact-checking all information and sources.
- Collaborate with the wider creative team (video producers, editors) to ensure a cohesive brand voice and share insights across all content formats.
Requirements:Â

- Proficient In Visually Translating Data & Concepts: The capacity to transform abstract concepts and data into compelling, easy-to-understand graphs, illustrations, or visualisations that support the story.
- Sensitivity To Visual-Text Synergy: A strong grasp of how visuals interplay with copy, leveraging design to enhance clarity, emphasis, and narrative impact.
- Strong Layout & Composition Skills: Proficiency in creating clear, engaging layouts that balance text-heavy content with visuals, ensuring accessibility and social media–friendly readability.
- Critical Visual Thinking: Awareness of how visual choices influence meaning, with sensitivity to nuance and context in shaping the narrative.
- Intellectual Curiosity & Fact-Checking Rigor: Open to new perspectives, actively avoids confirmation bias, and commits to thorough verification of information to maintain editorial integrity.
- High Emotional Intelligence: A nuanced understanding of sensitive topics, approached with empathy and strategic framing.
- Cultural Fluency: Deep familiarity with youth culture, online discourse, and global current affairs—including the social landscape of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
