Job Description

We’re looking for a hands-on Social Media Art Director who thrives at the intersection of creativity, craft, and technology. You’ll drive visual and content direction across social campaigns, from concept and design through shoot, motion, and post, bringing fresh, platform-native ideas to life. You should be equally comfortable leading production as you are experimenting with new AI-powered workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Creative Strategy & Concept Development

  • Translate client briefs into compelling visual content that meets communication goals.
  • Conduct market and audience research to define art direction, tone, and content style.
  • Ideate independently or collaboratively to develop strong social media content and pitch decks.
  • Conceptualise and execute original, strategically driven content across multiple social platforms.
  • Confidently present and justify content ideas to clients and internal teams.

Content Creation & Digital Production

  • Ability to shoot short- and long-form content with DSLR or mobile devices.
  • Direct and oversee photo/video shoots, working closely with external photographers, videographers, and talent, when required.
  • Provide creative and production solutions that balance quality, speed, and cost-efficiency.
  • Maintain visual consistency and uphold high design standards across all deliverables.
  • Possess strong knowledge of photography, cinematography, and digital post-production.

AI & Emerging Media

  • Leverage AI tools (e.g. Midjourney, ChatGPT, Veo) to ideate, prototype, and optimise creative output.
  • Stay ahead of emerging creative technologies to evolve workflows and content quality.

Team Collaboration & Workflow

  • Guide external designers, editors, and motion artists to align with approved visual direction.
  • Review creative work constructively and uphold design excellence.
  • Collaborate effectively with account managers, producers, freelancers, and production partners.
  • Participate actively in traffic and project management to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Foster a positive, solutions-focused team culture across departments.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media agencies.
  • Proven experience working with clients from the public service sector (government).
  • Strong pitch experience with a portfolio showcasing social content ideas for the public service sector (government).
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and CapCut.
  • Excellent understanding of social media formats, trends, and visual storytelling.
  • Skilled in AI-assisted design and creative production tools.
