About the Role
The Private Museum is hiring a Museum Associate to join our team and play a part in bringing art and its stories to a wider audience. Working within an arts space, you will have opportunities to develop creative content, gain insight into museum operations and contribute to exhibitions that connect artists, private collections and the public.

The Museum Associate will be part of the core museum team, working under the guidance and reporting to the relevant supervisor across three key areas: content creation, exhibition support, and administration. The role offers opportunities to shape how the museum shares its stories, gain hands-on experience in exhibition preparation and execution, and support the daily operations that make our work possible. With content creation and administration forming the core responsibilities, involvement in exhibition and curatorial work offers a broader understanding of museum practice.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation and Communications
路聽聽聽聽聽 Develop and produce content for the museum鈥檚 social media and digital platforms, including photographs, short-form videos, captions and other publicity materials.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Support the planning and maintenance of a content calendar covering exhibitions, public programmes, events and museum activities.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Document exhibitions, artist interviews, programmes and behind-the-scenes activities through photography and video.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with copywriting, editing and scheduling content, ensuring accuracy and consistency with the museum鈥檚 voice and visual identity.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Organise and maintain the museum鈥檚 digital content archive, including image credits and usage permissions.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor audience engagement and contribute ideas to strengthen the museum鈥檚 digital presence.

 

2. Administration and Operations
路聽聽聽聽聽 Support corporate governance administration through the preparation, filing and upkeep of meeting papers, minutes and organisational records.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with compiling supporting documents for reporting, audits and submissions, under the guidance of the relevant supervisor.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain inventories of museum supplies, equipment, merchandise and other operational assets.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Support routine finance administration, including invoices, receipts, payment requests, expense claims and transaction records.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with purchasing, obtaining quotations and coordinating with suppliers and service providers.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain organised records and correspondence, and support daily office and premises administration, including maintenance scheduling.

 

3. Exhibition and Programme Support
路聽聽聽聽聽 Work within assigned exhibition teams under the direction of the relevant supervisor.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with exhibition preparation, installation and deinstallation, including logistics, documentation and coordination.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Support the preparation and checking of artwork information, labels, checklists and exhibition materials.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with exhibition openings, public programmes and other museum events, including registration, visitor enquiries and on-site coordination.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Undertake artwork handling and movement only with appropriate training and supervision.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Contribute to other museum duties as reasonably assigned.

Requirements
路聽聽聽聽聽 A diploma or degree in arts management, communications, media, business administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

路聽聽聽聽聽 An interest in art, museums and cultural work.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to create engaging digital content, with basic photography, videography and video-editing skills.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Good written and verbal communication skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Strong organisational skills and confidence working with documents, spreadsheets and administrative records.

路聽聽聽聽聽 A responsible and discreet approach to financial, organisational and confidential information.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to manage competing deadlines, work independently and collaborate within a small team.

路聽聽聽聽聽 Willingness to support occasional evening and weekend exhibitions, programmes and events.

Experience in social media management, administration, finance support or the arts and nonprofit sector would be an advantage.
