To develop, execute, and analyse the overall social media strategy with a heavy emphasis on video-first content. This role is responsible for the entire content lifecycle—from strategic planning and on-location shooting to coordinating post-production, publishing, community management, and performance analysis. The goal is to use compelling video storytelling to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

This role is a fusion of creative strategy and data-driven marketing, broken down into three main areas:

1. Video Production & Content Ideation

  • Strategic Planning: Brainstorm, pitch, and develop creative concepts for short-form Reels/TikToks, product demos, and behind-the-scenes features that align with marketing campaigns.
  • On-Location Direction: Direct talent (employees or customers) on-screen to achieve natural performances and capture high-quality footage using smartphones or DJI equipment.
  • Editor Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for the video editing team, providing clear briefs, vision, and specific objectives for every project.
  • Quality Control: Review scripts and rough cuts from editors, providing constructive feedback to ensure the final video meets strategic goals.

2. Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Strategy Development: Assist in defining target audiences, setting goals for reach and engagement, and establishing a master content calendar.
  • Publishing & Scheduling: Manage the content calendar and schedule all posts across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube using tools like Meta Business Suite.
  • Community Management: Act as the brand’s voice by replying to comments and DMs in a timely manner and proactively engaging with followers to build a community.
  • Trendspotting: Monitor viral trends and audios to ensure content remains relevant and “viral-worthy”.

3. Analytics & Advertising Support

  • Performance Analysis: Track and measure the performance of all video content using native platform insights.
  • Data Reporting: Create regular reports on key metrics like views, engagement, and website traffic to inform future strategy.
  • Advertising Support: Assist in managing paid social media campaigns, using video content as the primary creative to boost posts and target new audiences.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical/Hard Skills:
    • Social Media Savvy: In-depth knowledge of algorithms and technical specs for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret metrics and translate data into actionable marketing insights.
    • Content Creation: Basic expertise in shooting cinematic footage and using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for supporting visuals.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Creativity & Storytelling: Ability to tell a compelling brand story in seconds.
    • Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to final edit while meeting deadlines.
    • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for crafting captions, communicating ideas, and engaging with the community.
    • Adaptability: The social media landscape changes daily; a willingness to learn and adapt is non-negotiable.
    • Self-Motivation: Often required to generate ideas independently and see projects through from start to finish.

Experience: 3–5 years in a hybrid marketing/content role.
