Job Description

About your role:

We are seeking a Video Editor for our YouTube & Video Production team based in Malaysia.

You will be working closely with the Youtube Channel Leads and Video Producers to craft impactful organic content for our 3 key channels, The Smart Local, Eatbook & Zula. This includes being responsible for the entire post production process (offline & online) and advising the production team for any post-production best practices. The ideal candidate should have experience editing organic content or long form content for YouTube.

What you will do:

  • Delivering top-quality creative edits and executing an efficient post-production process for the relevant channels
  • Understand and adhere to the different brand standards, guidelines and styles
  • Streamline workflow, delivery and asset organisation
  • Independently manage multiple edit projects concurrently, balancing time constraints whilst maintaining quality
  • Collaborate with the Video Producers to understand video objectives and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the visual storytelling
  • Continuously discover and implement new post-production initiatives to increase efficiency

A successful candidate should have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to tell compelling visual stories
  • Experience in editing long form YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts for organic channels
  • Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or Canva to create graphics for the videos
  • Experience in motion graphics or animation is advantageous
  • Clear and effective communication skills in English that allow for seamless collaboration and storytelling. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is advantageous
  • Creative, organised and able to work independently
  • Meticulous about the details, ensuring the quality and accuracy of deliverables prior to submission
