Job Description

About Woodslab

Woodslab is a design-led solid wood studio devoted to the craft and appreciation of timber. Our philosophy, Respect Your Time, embodies our belief that luxury begins with patience, material honesty, and restraint. From our city fringe showroom, we curate Singapore’s most diverse selection of exotic slabs and bespoke furniture.

 

The Role

We are looking for a versatile and proactive Intern to join our small, dedicated team. This is on on-site role designed for someone who is as comfortable behind a screen as they are on the showroom floor. You will play a vital part in translating our material stories into visual content while ensuring the physical studio environment reflects our editorial standards.

 

Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Content (60%)

  • Digital Execution: Translate planned content into visually compelling assets for social media and digital platforms using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Slab Customisation Mock-ups: Assist the team in creating visual mock-ups to help clients visualise custom slab configurations and joinery.
  • Production Assistance: Serve as a production assistant during photo and video shoots, helping with styling, lighting support, and set management.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all executed materials adhere to the Woodslab aesthetic of restraint and refinement.

 

Showroom & Studio Operations (30%)

  • Physical Configuration: Assist in the physical layout of the showroom to best showcase new arrivals and seasonal collections.
  • Material Handling: Support the team in moving and displaying solid wood slabs and furniture pieces for client viewings and gallery rotations.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensure the showroom remains a pristine, welcoming environment that reflects our design-led positioning.

General Administration (10%)

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on products and custom orders before they are sent out to clients.
  • General Support: Provide administrative support to the founder and team to ensure smooth day-to-day studio operations.

 

Who You Are

  • Design Savvy: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and/or high-level Canva execution. A keen eye for layout and typography is essential.
  • Hands-on & Energetic: You enjoy being active. Working with solid wood is a tactile, physical process, and you are comfortable assisting with moving furniture and slabs.
  • Proactive & Independent: You are a self-starter who doesn’t wait for instructions. You look for ways to be useful and are comfortable taking ownership of your tasks.
  • Execution Focused: You enjoy the process of making. You can take a creative brief and execute it with precision and care.
  • A Team Player: You have a mindset of contribution and are happy to help wherever the team needs it most.
  • A Natural Communicator: You are clear and professional in your communication, whether with the team or assisting with guests in the showroom.
  • Resilient & Resourceful: You are not afraid to try new things or solve problems on the fly. You understand that working with solid wood is a tactile, physical, and rewarding process.
