Professional Accountant (based in Sydney)

Job Description & Requirements

We are seeking Professional Accountant mainly responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring full compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements. This role supports key business decisions by providing clear financial insights and maintaining the integrity of the organization’s financial operations. Core Responsibilities

 

1. Financial Record Management

•Maintain and organize all financial documentation, including general ledgers, journals, and supporting records.
•Ensure all financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed.
2. Financial Reporting

•Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
•Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

•Support the development and monitoring of budgets.
•Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist in forecasting financial performance.

 

4. Compliance & Audits

•Ensure compliance with Australia’s tax regulations, accounting standards, and governmental requirements.
•Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing required documentation and addressing audit queries.

 

5. Transaction Processing

•Manage daily financial operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payroll processing.
•Ensure timely and accurate processing of all transactions.
6. Financial Analysis

•Analyze financial data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and provide strategic insights.
•Prepare financial analyses to support management decision-making and operational improvements.
Typical Tasks

•Reconciling accounts and resolving variances.
•Preparing and filing tax returns in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
•Processing vendor invoices and payments.
•Liaising with auditors, tax authorities, and government agencies.
•Managing and updating asset registers and petty cash/imprest records.
•Conducting monthly and quarterly financial reviews and preparing corresponding reports.

 

Requirements:
