Job Description

Dezign Format Group Limited is looking for a Design Manager to join its design and build team in Singapore. The role will be responsible for developing and managing creative design solutions for events, exhibitions, commercial spaces, brand activations, and other experiential environments. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, project managers, designers, production teams, suppliers, and contractors to take projects from initial concept through detailed design and final installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design development of exhibition booths, event environments, retail installations, commercial interiors, and experiential spaces.
  • Translate client briefs and project requirements into practical and visually compelling design concepts.
  • Prepare and review design presentations, layouts, drawings, 3D concepts, material selections, and other design documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers and production teams to ensure designs are achievable within agreed budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
  • Work with contractors, fabricators, suppliers, and other external partners during production and installation.
  • Review shop drawings, construction details, material specifications, and site conditions.
  • Attend client meetings, site surveys, production meetings, and installation briefings when required.
  • Monitor design quality throughout the project lifecycle and resolve design or technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure that proposed designs comply with relevant safety, structural, accessibility, and site requirements.
  • Manage multiple Basketball Bros projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and quality standards.
  • Support junior designers and provide guidance on design development and presentation standards.
  • Keep up with developments in exhibition design, experiential marketing, materials, technology, and sustainable design practices.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Exhibition Design, Spatial Design, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of professional experience in design, exhibition, interior, events, or experiential environments.
  • Strong understanding of design development, materials, fabrication, and installation processes.
  • Experience with relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, 3D modelling or similar tools.
  • Strong project coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret client requirements and turn them into practical design solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment and managing multiple deadlines.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant commercial, exhibition, event, interior, or spatial design work would be advantageous.
