Job Description
2D Designer
Contract Type: Fixed Contract/Freelance
Contract Period: 6 Months
Reports To: Art Director
Salary Range: SGD X,XXX – SGD X,XXX
We are Motion: For Impact, an experiential agency that moves brands and people—their stakeholders and communities—into action. We do this by designing how they feel.
Founded in Singapore, we are a team of highly performing creatives, planners, strategists, project managers, designers, writers, and makers. For over 20 years, we have designed human-led experiences—corporate conferences, brand activations, immersive installations, and multi-sensorial environments—that move people and businesses into action.
We work across three pillars: Content and Communications, Events and Spaces, and People and Culture. Our work spans the full experience lifecycle: from strategic concept and creative platform through to spatial direction, content production, and live activation. In simple terms, we create experiences for impact.
We are now entering a new phase of growth, and are looking for individuals with the right skillset, mindset and heartset to perform with us to produce work that will move people into action.
The Role
The 2D Designer is Motion’s visual executor: the person who takes a creative direction and builds it into production-ready reality. You work across event collaterals, brand activations, presentations, large-format/print, and digital assets, producing work that is technically precise and visually consistent across every touchpoint.
You report to the Art Director, and work closely with project managers and production partners throughout the full project lifecycle. You manage your own output, meet your deadlines, and hold the craft standard the work requires.
Key Responsibilities
● Design & Craft
○ Produce design assets across print, digital, large-format, and presentation formats, working within the established creative direction and brand guidelines
○ Develop layouts, typographic treatments, colour applications, and image direction at the execution level
○ Adapt visual systems across multiple formats and sizes, maintaining consistency and quality at every touchpoint
○ Support concept and ideation phases by contributing considered visual ideas when invited to do so
● Production & Delivery
○ Prepare print-ready and digital artwork to accurate production specifications: bleed, resolution, colour modes, and large-format requirements
○ Manage your own workload across concurrent projects, tracking your deadlines and flagging risks early to the Art Director or Project Manager
○ Conduct quality checks on your own output before submission; own your errors and correct them before they reach your stakeholders
○ Maintain organised, clearly labelled file management for all active and archived projects
● Collaboration & Communication
○ Work closely with the Art Director and/or Creative Director, and Project Managers at every stage of production
○ Receive and act on feedback clearly: implement revisions accurately, promptly, and without losing the thread of the brief
○ Communicate your progress, blockers, and timeline concerns to the relevant team members before they become problems
○ Support pitch and presentation builds, producing decks and visual assets to brief and to deadline
Requirements
Skillset
● You have 3 to 5 years of design experience in a creative agency, events, or branding context, with a strong portfolio to show
● You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are non-negotiable. Figma and After Effects are a strong advantage
● You have a solid command of design fundamentals: typography, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy
● You are experienced at producing assets for large-format print, event environments, and spatial applications
● You are able to apply and adapt brand guidelines accurately across diverse formats and media
● You use AI tools actively in your process—to generate references, accelerate ideation, and cut production time—and your craft judgment decides when the output is ready
Mindset
● You work with precision and take your craft seriously
● You take feedback well and implement it quickly, without losing the thread of the brief
● You manage your own time and output independently; you do not need to be chased
● You are curious about design, culture, and the work being made around you
Heartset
● You collaborate easily and communicate clearly across disciplines
● You show up with a good attitude, especially under deadline pressure
● You take ownership of your output: if something is not right, you say so and fix it
● You care about the quality of what Motion puts into the world
Our Values:
Ownership, Authentic, Warm, Humble and Reliable.
We care. We listen. We lean in.
As we are an independent and high-performing business, sometimes it’s all hands-on deck. The right person for this role is ready to support any team member at any seniority by giving your time and support at every milestone of a project journey.
If you feel that you possess the qualities above and are keen to perform with us, we look forward to hearing from you.
