Associate/Senior Associate, Video Editor & Production

Job Description

We are looking for an Associate/Senior Associate, Video Editor & Production to join our content team.

This is a hands-on video production and post-production role for someone with strong technical skills in video editing, camera operation, lighting and audio. The ideal candidate should be able to translate a creative brief into a clear production plan, visualise how the final video should look, and execute projects from concept and shoot planning through filming, editing and final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-production

• Review and interpret creative briefs to develop a clear understanding of project objectives and deliverables.
• Visualise the entire production process, including how the content should be shot, edited and delivered.
• Identify potential production challenges early and proactively propose practical solutions or alternative approaches.
• Contribute creative ideas and recommendations to strengthen storytelling, improve production efficiency, and enhance the overall quality of the content.
• Participate in production planning, including shot development, camera approach, lighting, audio requirements, story structure and execution.

Production

• Support small-scale productions, including camera operation, lighting, audio setup, and on-site filming when required.
• Collaborate with the team during shoots to ensure content is captured according to creative and production requirements.

Post-production

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is essential, with working proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Develop compelling narratives through strong editing, pacing, shot selection and visual storytelling.
• Perform colour correction and colour grading to maintain visual consistency and quality.
• Create and animate motion graphics using After Effects for video content.
• Utilise external plugins and editing tools to enhance workflow and production quality.
• Produce content optimized for social media platforms, particularly short-form and vertical video formats.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is required. Proficiency in After Effects and working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end post-production workflows, including footage organisation, editing, audio, colour, motion graphics, exports and delivery.
• Experience creating motion graphics and animation in After Effects.
• Good understanding of social media content, particularly Reels and other short-form video formats.
• Experience creating a variety of content, including human-interest stories, event coverage, and street interviews.
• Basic knowledge of camera operation and production setups.
• The ability to conceptualize a video from the briefing stage and visualize the final output before production begins.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate production challenges while proposing alternative solutions.
• A genuine passion for content creation and storytelling.
• A production background is preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
